Heading to the beautiful Gold Coast this year? Good choice. Now, we all know it’s pretty hard to get bored on the Gold Coast with such a varied assortment of opportunities for fun in the sun, but what if you forgot to Slip, Slop, Slap and need some inside time? Gold Coast has you covered, no matter what you’re in to! What are these exciting activities we speak of? We’re glad you asked…

Get Your Suave On

You no longer need to head to Las Vegas or The Moulin Rouge in Paris to experience a breathtaking night of saucy burlesque. The Pink Flamingo Spiegelclub is a taste of all the best things in life. A little risqué, a little bit funny (read “hilarious”) and a little bit astounding, if acrobats are your thing! In the style of the world-famous Spiegeltent, The Pink Flamingo’s latest show is SUAVE. Strictly 18+, this promises to be an evening of living on the edge. Located in Broadbeach, it’s just a hop, skip and a jump from your Karana Palms self-contained apartment on Chevron Island.

Dress code is smart casual, so when you’re finished with the sand and the surf, head back to your home away from home, don your glad rags and pop over to Broadbeach for an unforgettable night. If you’re staying at Karana Palms Resort after 14 March 2020, you’re in luck. The brand new Pink Flamingo Nightclub opens its doors that night, so after an evening of mind-blowing entertainment, kick on at the nightclub, open from 11pm until 3am…then head back to Chevron Island. (Your mother was right, NOTHING good happens after 3am.)

Home of The Arts

Perhaps burlesque isn’t your thing, and you’re looking for something a little more…refined? Then check out what’s happening at Home of The Arts, the Gold Coast’s premier venue for all things theatrical and cinematic! Just a 20 minute stroll to Surfers Paradise from your Karana Palms apartment on Chevron Island, there’s plenty coming up in February and March.

Is comedy your bag? Then why not head over for the Gold Coast Laughs Gala on 14 March, hosted by Denise Scott? (There are some adult themes, but it’s ages 15+ so families with older kids can enjoy the laughs as well). In fact, March looks like being a veritable comedy smorgasbord. Fans of Kathy Lette (of Puberty Blues fame) will be thrilled to find her one-woman show “Big Night Out” playing 12-13 March, described as “deliciously rude and darkly funny”, Maybe you want to get really fancy or you have a soft spot for dance? Then don’t miss the Moscow Ballet La Classique’s production of Sleeping Beauty, one show only on 29 March. And don’t forget to check the cinema times for that movie you’ve been meaning to see! All this and more to choose from, within walking distance from Karana Palms Resort, on the Gold Coast’s best kept secret, beautiful Chevron Island.

Gold Coast Superhero Weekend

Not all heroes wear capes. But let’s be honest, the best ones totally do. Whether you’re Team Cape or not, there’ll be more than enough Superhero action to keep you interested when men of steel and women of wonder converge on the Gold Coast for the pop culture extravaganza that is Gold Coast Superhero Weekend, 13-15 March 2020. With parades, displays, movie screenings, and Intergalactic Yoga, there’s sure to be something for everyone, so suit up and save the world! All the action will unfold in the Broadbeach precinct, just a ten-minute drive from Karana Palms Self Contained Apartments on Chevron island. Unless you’re Super Man…then it’s about 27 seconds, south-east as the crow flies.

Parking could be a little hectic (Wonder Woman’s invisible jet takes up, like, 60 car spaces on its own.) so why not take public transport and save the stress? The friendly staff at Karana Palms Resort will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Hmmm…Where to Stay?

So much to do, so little time, and you certainly don’t want to be wasting valuable holiday time getting around. Karana Palms Resort offers the perfect base from which to soak up the world of burlesque, catch a movie and thwart an evil villain. That is, of course, if you’ve already enjoyed all the sun, surf and sand that the Gold Coast is world-famous for.

When that’s all done (sooo tired), where better to relax and unwind than by the tropical style pool, drink in hand, thinking about the delicious BBQ you’ll be whipping up tonight? If you’re looking for Chevron Island accommodation, booking your home away from home couldn’t be easier. Each one-bedroom, self-contained apartment (sleeps four) boasts a well-equipped kitchen, laundry facilities in your apartment, and a spacious balcony or courtyard as standard.

Just book directly with Karana Palms Resort via this website for the best price available!
